A Shining City On a Hill

Welcome to DaveSchultheis.com. This is my personal web site, and I am striving to make it a regular, information-packed destination for citizens of Colorado's 9th Senatorial district and people all over Colorado and the nation.

The unifying theme of this site is the unifying theme of my political vision: "a shining city on a hill." President Ronald Reagan used this phrase regularly to capture his vision for America as a bright light to the entire world, and I share former President Reagan's vision. In order for America to remain the bright light it has been for over two centuries now, our political leadership must be based on the philosophy of the people who built the city in the first place.

That philosophy is rather simple and elegant. "We hold these truths to be self-evident. All men are created equal, and are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights. "Yet today, we see government violating these rights in a cavalier and systematic fashion in the name of goals the American Founders never considered proper functions of government in the firstplace.

My aim as a state legislator is to be an influence against this decay in our founding principles. I firmly believe America can remain the world's brightest light, and that Colorado can exemplify this vision for the rest of the nation. I invite your help in realizing this noble and ambitious vision.
